Our Philosophy

Our Story

Come for the lifestyle, stay for the roots

SCROLL

Not a Hotel. A Home.

In a market flooded with impersonal rentals and transactional stays, Domaine de Chazeuil is planting a different flag. We're not selling rooms. We're offering a return — to a place that remembers you.

This is a 17th-century Louis XIII château on 34 hectares of walled parkland in the heart of Bourbonnais. We are restoring it into a seasonal home — a place where guests don't just stay, but belong. Where your children might one day return with theirs.

When you arrive at Chazeuil, you receive the keys to the property. You cook in the kitchen. You walk the forest. You read in the library. You light the fire. You pick herbs from the potager and fruit from the orchard. This is your home for the season — with 400 years of stories in its walls.

“A timeless place doesn't beg for attention. It invites the right people, quietly but powerfully.”

What We Believe

Legacy Over Luxury

Château turrets in winter — centuries of heritage preserved in stone

Heritage Over Novelty

Every renovation honours the original. The limestone walls, the herringbone oak parquet, the carved stone fireplaces with caryatid details — they carry centuries of craftsmanship. We restore, we don't reinvent. The 2009 interior renovation preserved every French ceiling, every panelled wall, every crystal chandelier.

Nature as Neighbour

34 hectares of ancient woodland, two cascading ponds fed by a stream, a walled English-style park with vast tree-lined allées — these are not a backdrop, they are the point. The herons, the deer, the wildflower meadows, the kitchen garden with its seasonal harvest — they were here before us.

Continuity, Not Churn

We're curating a circle of continuity — where returning guests become co-authors of our story. No strangers, no quick flips. Our loyalty programme, Les Clés du Domaine, rewards those who return: from personalised welcomes to a tree planted in your name. These guests aren't renters — they're guardians.

The Participative Guest

Selling Continuity, Not Ownership

The Domaine is a living, breathing estate evolving season by season. Guests don't just observe the renovation — they contribute to shaping its future through feedback, stories, and design suggestions.

Early-phase guests receive privileges: early access to newly opened spaces, locked-in pricing, custom welcome gifts, and recognition on the Guestbook Legacy Wall — both a physical stone inscription on-site and a digital scroll online. Your apartment may even be unofficially named after your family.

This isn't a marketing gimmick. It's the foundation of how we build — storytelling over advertising, emotional return on investment, and a community of people who care about what endures.

The Estate

400 Years of Home

Built in the 17th century as a Louis XIII-style château, flanked by large pavilions, and comprehensively restored in the late 19th century, Domaine de Chazeuil sits on 34 hectares in the heart of Bourbonnais — the old province of central France known for its rolling countryside, thermal springs, and quiet beauty.

The property survived the Revolution, two World Wars, and a century of gentle decline. The bones are extraordinary: vaulted medieval cellars spanning the entire footprint, three floors of 440 m² each with 4.7-metre ceilings, a grand vestibule with a wide oak stairway, reception rooms in enfilade with carved fireplaces and crystal chandeliers, two cascading spring-fed ponds, 30+ hectares of ancient woodland, and a landscape crossed by a stream and bordered by a walled English-style park.

Daniel Neshto, the estate's custodian, has lived on-site for over five years — maintaining, renovating, and developing the vision for what Chazeuil could become. The renovation is deliberate: every decision asks what would serve the next 400 years. We use traditional materials, work with local artisans, and restore rather than replace.

Phase 1 opens for guests in spring 2026. Three family apartments follow in summer. The stables begin their transformation into an event and workshop space. This is not the end — it's the beginning of the next chapter.
