Yes. The château plus all apartments can be reserved for exclusive use, accommodating up to 30 guests across the estate. This is ideal for family reunions, retreats, and celebrations. You'll have the entire 34-hectare property to yourselves. Contact us for exclusive-use pricing and availability.

No — and that's deliberate. Domaine de Chazeuil is a seasonal home, not a hotel. There's no reception desk, no room service, no daily housekeeping parade. Instead, there's a key, a welcome hamper, 34 hectares of private grounds, and the freedom to make yourself at home. We're selective about who stays — because this is a place built for people who return.

Getting Here

The estate is in the Bourbonnais region (Allier department, Auvergne), approximately 330 km south of Paris (3–3.5 hours by motorway). Clermont-Ferrand is 75 km away, Lyon 150 km. The nearest SNCF train station is just 2 km from the estate, and shops and services are also 2 km away. We can arrange private transfers from Paris, Lyon, or the local station. The estate also has a helicopter landing pad.

The Bourbonnais region offers: Le Pal amusement park, the thermal spas and Belle Époque culture of Vichy, the medieval village of Charroux, the botanical gardens at Apremont, wake parks, the cultural sites of Moulins, and the thermal town of Bourbon-l'Archambault. Local forest trails, fishing, equestrian centres, and artisan visits round out the 'Countryside Passport' — a curated guide we provide for every guest.

Families

Absolutely. The estate is a paradise for families — 34 hectares of safe walled grounds to explore, cascading ponds, a heated pool (15 × 7 m), rustic swings, exploration trails, a petting zoo, and endless adventures in the forest. We offer garden scavenger hunts, archery, medieval games, and afternoon jam-making with estate fruit. Cots, high chairs, and childcare can be arranged with advance notice.

Events

The château and grounds are available for celebrations, retreats, and small weddings. The medieval vaulted cellars seat up to 16 for private dinners. The stable block is being renovated (February 2026) into a dedicated event and workshop space. Please note: bachelor parties and loud events are not permitted. Contact us for event-specific pricing.

Practical

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the apartments and designated areas of the château by prior arrangement. The grounds are partially unfenced, so dogs should remain under control near the ponds, livestock areas, and the walled garden.

The estate has full high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the château, apartments, pool area, and main grounds. Mobile signal varies by provider. Many guests appreciate the chance to disconnect — the deep forest has blissfully no signal. For remote workers, we offer fast internet, comfortable work spaces, and the 'Work-from-Château' package with mid-term rates.

L'Orangerie apartment offers ground-floor access suitable for guests with limited mobility. The château's main reception rooms (vestibule, grand salon, dining room, library) are fully accessible on the ground floor. Please contact us in advance so we can ensure your stay is comfortable.
