The Experience
The estate's mix of ancient woodland, open meadows, ponds, and hedgerows creates habitat for a remarkable diversity of birdlife. Herons and kingfishers frequent the ponds. Woodpeckers and treecreepers work the old oaks. In spring, nightingales sing from the thickets. A guided dawn walk with binoculars (provided) identifies species and explains the ecological story of the estate. Self-guided bird trails are available for early risers throughout their stay.
