The Experience
The estate's two cascading ponds — fed by a stream that crosses the walled park — have been stocked with fish since medieval times. Settle into a quiet morning of catch-and-release fishing from the pond banks, surrounded by willows and birdsong. Rods and tackle are provided. Children are welcome with adult supervision. This is slow, contemplative activity at its best — a pond, a line, and the company of herons.
